Mixed Media picture on 12"x 12" foam board.
This is a great workshop, using a range of different techniques, including stencils, structure paste, rice paper, bister sprays and Powertex. Recycled fabrics are used together with zips and a variety of embellishments. You even shape the craft foam using files, so the finished look is entirely in your hands.
There is a range of rice papers available and a great selection of colours.
Cost of £50 includes all materials, tuition and refreshments throughout the day. Please bring a packed lunch with you (we kindly ask for no nuts or popcorn due to a serious allergy).
We work alongside you on the day and go through each step with you.
Powertex is the environmentally friendly water based textile hardener which can harden a variety of materials with many uses.
It can be a messy craft but very addictive and with great results. An apron and gloves will be provided, please wear old clothes.
A £10 non refundable (but transferable) deposit will secure your place, spaces are limited. Please either pop into the studio to book or give us a ring on 01386 304878.

Please note - if you have a nut allergy, the Bister sprays that we are using contain crushed walnut shells. You are welcome to bring a mask if preferred (the room will be well ventilated).

2026-07-22 18:00 - 2026-07-22 20:00Introduction to Powertex - Hanging Heart plaque and a little surprise. This is a great taster session, you will learn about Powertex and what it can be used for. This is suitable for beginners, before going onto anything larger or more intricate.Create your own unique decorative plaque using a wooden heart, (designs vary) as a base and upcycling scrap materials and embellishments, plus a little surprise.Cost of £20 includes all materials, tuition and refreshments on the day.Powertex is the environmentally friendly water based textile hardener which can harden a variety of materials and can be used in lots of different ways.It can be a very messy craft but very addictive with great results. 2026-07-23 18:00 - 2026-07-23 21:00Come and join us to create your own colourful Butterfly wall plaque.In this workshop you will be using Powertex fabric hardener, stencil paste, acrylic ink sprays and various recycled fabrics and embellishments to design and decorate a 31cm wide MDF Wall hanging Butterfly.Once dry you will use a dry brush technique to colour and enhance the texture on your Butterfly using pigments and varnish, the finished look is up to you.When finished you take your Butterfly home with you which once fully dried (3 weeks drying time) can be placed outside if you wish.Powertex is a fabric hardener, so we recommend wearing old clothes, aprons and gloves are supplied and refreshments are included. It is a messy craft but great fun.Limited spaces are available, a £10 non-refundable (but transferable) deposit is required on booking.
