3 - Powertex Tree House NEW
10:00 -15:00 2024.03.03 18 Vine Mews, Vine Street, Evesham, Worcs, WR11 4RE  Come along and join us to create your own unique Tree House using Powertex, a large sweetie jar, assorted embellishments and recycled materials and then finish off with pigments and varnish. Cost £50 includes tuition, all materials and refreshments, please bring a packed lunch (no nuts or popcorn please due to a serious nut allergy) The final design is up to you, we will be on hand to guide you. This is a totally new workshop. Powertex is the environmentally friendly water based textile hardener which can harden a variety of materials. It can be a very messy craft but with great results. An apron and gloves will be provided, please wear old clothes. You are welcome to bring your own apron if you prefer. Please note that we require a minimum or 2 people to be able to run this workshop.

Over the period of the five weeks you will learn the basics of knitting, to include: How to hold the needles
Casting on and off
Garter stitch
Stocking stitch
Increasing and decreasing You will also learn how to follow a pattern. Once these skills have been gained, this will enable you to progress to intermediate/advanced level where you will learn to work with more complicated patterns. Please note that there will also be an element of ‘homework’ between weeks. During the weeks you will knit a hat, headband or a cowl together with a brooch (styles will vary). Dates:

She has run classes at Evesham College for the past five years, offering a relaxed informal style of learning with the focus on having fun

This course is suitable for beginners who would like to learn a new technique. During the three weeks you will learn how to crochet granny squares, from which you can then build and make a phone case or a pencil case or a cushion or even a blanket, the possibilities are endless. You will learn: • Slip knot
• Foundation chain
• Chain stitch
• Double crochet
• Treble crochet
• And finishing – darning in the ends and joining the squares Equipment: all is provided for you to keep (a hook, crochet guide and your finished project and yarn to take home). Minimum class size 2 and maximum 4. Cost: £60 £20 non refundable (but transferable) deposit on booking, with the balance due on the first evening.

Minimum number 3 and maximum seating for 14. If you don’t see a date that is suitable, please speak to us as we may be able to accommodate you on a different day. 24 - Powertex Esmeralda the Quirky Cat

During the day you will create your own amazing fabric sculpture using Powertex fabric hardener and recycled fabrics, and then you will bring your figure to life with our range of colour pigments and dry brushing techniques. Your finished sculpture will also be suitable for outdoor display once cured (3 weeks) if you wish. Cost £45 includes all materials, tuition and refreshments.
