    Beginners Sewing Workshop with Amanda Heslop (week 3)

    This workshop is designed for absolute beginners, with that sewing machine that has been hiding since given as a present!
    We have a fun and friendly workshop to overcome your fears.
    This is a four week workshop, starting with an introduction to how to use your machine and the basic settings. Then making a cushion using the techniques learnt and fat quarters of material.
    You will need to bring:
    A working sewing machine
    Pins, scissors and a tape measure
    A zip (this will be discussed in your first class so you know what size to buy)
    We will provide:
    Fabric – fat quarters (although you can bring your own if you prefer)
    Demonstrations and guidance
    Techniques and tips
    Duration: 6.30pm – 8.30pm for 4 weeks
    Start date: Tuesday, 18th April 2023 – 9th May 2023
    Spaces are limited – minimum 3 people, maximum 5 people.
    Cost: £80 (£40 payable on booking and £40 on the first session)
    A bit about Amanda – She is a designer dressmaker specialising in bridal and occasion wear with over 35 years in this area. She also has over 20 years teaching experience delivering various sewing related courses and both Kaz & Annie have been pupils in the past and can recommend her workshops.

    NEW – Mixed Media Canvas.
    This is a great new workshop, using a range of different techniques, including stencils, structure paste, rice paper, bister or bister sprays and Powertex.
    Create your own unique decorative Canvas using recycled fabrics and a variety of embellishments.
    Cost of £35 includes all materials, tuition and refreshments on the evening.
    Powertex is the environmentally friendly water based textile hardener which can harden a variety of materials with many uses.
    It can be a messy craft but very addictive and with great results. An apron and gloves will be provided, please wear old clothes.
    A £5 non refundable (but transferable) deposit will secure your place, spaces are limited. Please either pop into the studio to book or give us a ring on 01386 304878.
    Please note that we need a minimum of 2 people to be able to run this workshop.

    Pottery painting or Decopatch evening where you can get together with your friends or family and enjoy some creative ME time (over 16’s only). Choose from our wide range of items, with prices starting from £9 up to £40.
    You are welcome to bring your own fizz or drink on the evening. We also sell a range of teas and coffees.
    Minimum number 3 and maximum seating for 14.
    If you don’t see a date that is suitable, please speak to us as we may be able to accommodate you on a different day.
    Booking is essential with a £5 deposit, which will be deducted from the cost of the items on the night. To book your night out please pop into the studio, give us a ring on 01386 304878 or message us.
