2025-09-03 18:30 - 2025-09-03 20:30“Knitting is calming, relaxing, and keeps us centred because of its repetitive movements, which can help prevent and manage stress, pain and depression, which in turn strengthens the body’s immune system”The total course is for five weeks, two hours per night, per week. Over the period of the five weeks you will learn the basics of knitting, to include:How to hold the needles
Casting on and off
Garter stitch
Stocking stitch
Increasing and decreasing
You will also learn how to follow a pattern.Once these skills have been gained, this will enable you to progress to intermediate/advanced level where you will learn to work with more complicated patterns.During the weeks you will knit a hat, headband or a cowl together with a brooch (styles will vary).Dates:

She knits for a variety of charities including Breast Cancer and Help the Heroes. She has run classes at Evesham College for the past five years, offering a relaxed informal style of learning with the focus on having fun. -

2025-10-05 10:00 - 2025-10-05 14:00Create your own unique Powertex Halloween Wreath using fabrics, embellishments and Powertex on a metal ring. The design is up to you, this is very much a self led workshop, we will be on hand to offer suggestions and help and if stock allows may make one too alongside you.Once cured inside for 3 weeks, your wreath will be able to be displayed outside if wished.Cost of £35 includes all materials and tuition and refreshments/biscuits during the workshop - please note we will not be having a lunch break but you are welcome to bring a snack if you need to (no nuts or nut products due a serious allergy).Powertex is the environmentally friendly water based textile hardener which can harden a variety of materials.It can be a very messy craft but with great results. An apron and gloves will be provided but please wear old clothes.Please note that we need a minimum of 2 people to be able to run this workshop - maximum 4 people. This workshop will take place in our upstairs studio, if stairs are a problem, please speak to us as we may be able to hold it downstairs.Booking is essential, spaces are limited, a £10 non-refundable (but transferable) deposit will secure your place. This is a great taster session, you will learn a range of different techniques, suitable for beginners, before going onto anything larger or more intricate.Create your own unique decorative plaque using a wooden heart, (various styles available) as a base and upcycling scrap materials and embellishments.Cost of £20 includes all materials, tuition and refreshments on the night.Powertex is the environmentally friendly water based textile hardener which can harden a variety of materials with many uses.It can be a very messy craft but very addictive with great results.
