October | October | October | 1 - Knitting as a Life Skill – 5 week course (week 5)
18:30 -20:30 2023.11.01 18 Vine Mews, Vine Street, Evesham, Worcs, WR11 4RE  “Knitting is calming, relaxing, and keeps us centred because of its repetitive movements, which can help prevent and manage stress, pain and depression, which in turn strengthens the body’s immune system” The total course is for 4 weeks, two hours per night. Over the period of the four weeks you will learn the basics of knitting, to include: How to hold the needles
Casting on and off
Garter stitch
Stocking stitch
Increasing and decreasing
You will also learn how to follow a pattern. Once these skills have been gained, this will enable you to progress to intermediate/advanced level where you will learn to work with more complicated patterns. During the weeks you will knit a hat, headband or a cowl together with a brooch (styles will vary). Dates:

Annie has been knitting for over 45 years, self-taught originally knitting for family and friends, but now her own work is much in demand as commissions. She knits for a variety of charities including Breast Cancer and Help the Heroes. She has run classes at Evesham College for the past five years, offering a relaxed informal style of learning with the focus on having fun.

Choose from our wide range of items, with prices starting from £9 up to £40. You are welcome to bring your own fizz or drink on the evening. We also sell a range of teas and coffees. Minimum number 3 and maximum seating for 14. If you don’t see a date that is suitable, please speak to us as we may be able to accommodate you on a different day. Booking is essential with a £5 deposit, which will be deducted from the cost of the items on the night. 18:00 -21:00 2023.11.15 18 Vine Mews, Vine Street, Evesham, Worcs, WR11 4RE  Powertex your own mini Highland Cow – NEW Workshop Come and join us on our new mini Highland Cow workshop. You will be guided through the process of making your own Highland Cow using Powertex and recycled materials and will be able to take home your mini Hamish on the day. If you are interested or would like any more information, please get in touch. Cost £25 Please note that we need a minimum of 2 people booked on to be able to run this workshop. Spaces are limited and a £5 non refundable (but transferable) deposit per person is required on booking please. It is a messy craft and wearing old clothes is recommended, an apron and gloves will be provided. Drinks included (and biscuits)
| 16 | 17 - Knitting – Learn a bit more – 3 week Course (Week 1)
18:00 -20:00 2023.11.17 18 Vine Mews, Vine Street, Evesham, Worcs, WR11 4RE  In this workshop, which continues on from our ‘Knitting as a Life Skill’ workshop, you will learn new stitches and pattern styles. This is suitable for those who can already knit ie cast on, follow basic instructions and cast off and would like to learn more. The idea is to knit squares to either form a cushion or a small knee blanket. Cost £60 for all 3 weeks Dates: Friday 17th November 6pm-8pm Thursday 23rd November 6pm-8pm Thursday 30th November 6pm-8pm Tuition and needles included and a selection of yarn will be available but you are welcome to bring your own (double knitting) if you wish to follow a particular theme. Refreshments included. Booking is essential, with full payment on booking please. (Refundable if cancelled 2 weeks before start date and we can refill your space) Minimum number 3 and maximum 8. 19 - Powertex Mixed Media picture on foam board
10:00 -16:00 2023.11.19  Mixed Media picture on foam board. This is a great workshop, using a range of different techniques, including carving out your foam, stencils, structure paste, rice paper, bister sprays and Powertex. Create your own unique decorative picture on foam using recycled fabrics, zips and a variety of embellishments. Cost of £50 includes all materials, tuition and refreshments throughout the day. Please bring a packed lunch with you (we kindly ask for no nuts or popcorn due to serious allergy). Powertex is the environmentally friendly water based textile hardener which can harden a variety of materials with many uses. It can be a messy craft but very addictive and with great results. An apron and gloves will be provided, please wear old clothes. A £5 non refundable (but transferable) deposit will secure your place, spaces are limited. A variety of Powertex colours are available, the note books are an example only, you will be able to create your own design using the materials provided.. Cost of £30.00 includes all materials and tuition and a hot/cold drink during the workshop. Powertex is the environmentally friendly water based textile hardener which can harden a variety of materials and both Kaz & Annie are Certified Powertex Tutors for fabric sculpting, Stone Art and mixed media. It can be a very messy craft but with great results. An apron and gloves will be provided, please wear old clothes. You are welcome to bring your own apron if you prefer. During the evening you will create your own amazing fabric sculpture using Powertex fabric hardener and recycled fabrics, and then the following evening you will bring your figure to life with our range of colour pigments and dry brushing techniques (if you can’t make the following evening, please speak to us as we may be able to offer an alternative date). Your finished sculpture will also be suitable for outdoor display once cured (3 weeks) if you wish. Cost £45 includes all materials, tuition and refreshments.
