    Create your own unique Powertex Mushrooms using recycled materials, fabrics and Powertex.
    Cost of £60 includes all materials and tuition and refreshments. Please bring a packed lunch but no nuts or popcorn due to a serious allergy.
    Powertex is the environmentally friendly water based textile hardener which can harden a variety of materials.
    It can be a very messy craft but with great results. An apron and gloves will be provided but please wear old clothes. You are welcome to bring your own apron if you prefer.
    Please note that we need a minimum of 2 people to be able to run this workshop.

  • Stone Art Owl

    Come and join us to create your own unique Owl wall plaque.

    In this workshop you will be using Powertex fabric hardener together with Stone Art powder to create your own clay, to design and decorate a MDF Wall hanging Owl (33cm high).  You will also be able to choose from a selection of our moulds to make your own embellishments using stone art clay and various decorative tools.

    Once dry you will use a dry brush technique to colour and enhance the texture on your project, the finished look and colours are up to you.

    When finished you take your project home with you which once fully dried (3 weeks drying time) can be placed outside if you wish.

    Powertex is a fabric hardener so we recommend wearing old clothes, aprons and gloves are supplied and refreshments are included.  There is quite a lot of mixing involved in making the Stone Art clay but you get great results.

  • Knitting as a Life Skill – 5 week course (week 1)

    “Knitting is calming, relaxing, and keeps us centred because of its repetitive movements, which can help prevent and manage stress, pain and depression, which in turn strengthens the body’s immune system”
    The total course is for 4 weeks, two hours per night. Over the period of the four weeks you will learn the basics of knitting, to include:
    How to hold the needles
    Casting on and off
    Garter stitch
    Stocking stitch
    Increasing and decreasing
    You will also learn how to follow a pattern.
    Once these skills have been gained, this will enable you to progress to intermediate/advanced level where you will learn to work with more complicated patterns.
    During the weeks you will knit a hat, headband or a cowl together with a brooch (styles will vary).
    Dates:
    Week 1 – Wednesday 4th October
    Week 2 – Wednesday 11th October
    Week 3 – Wednesday 18th October
    Week 4 – Wednesday 25th October

    Come and join us to Powertex your own Elephant. In this workshop you will be using Powertex fabric hardener (choice of colours) to design and decorate a 40cm MDF Wall hanging Elephant using various recycled fabrics and embellishments.

  • Botany Bay Craft Fair

    Have a look around the garden centre and enjoy something in the cafe – we can definitely recommend their bacon sandwiches and chips.

  • Halloween Family Party

    Come in and join us for a family fun party and paint some Halloween pottery or Decopatch (or just choose something else from our selection).

    Dressing up is optional but why not join in with Kaz & Annie?  There will be a prize for the best dressed.

    Bring your own bottle (we can supply the glasses) or choose from our range of teas, coffees, milkshakes or squash.

    Please note that as we are only small we ask that there is only one non-painter, if any, per group.

    We only have 3 tables available (2 seating 6 people and 1 seating 4 people) please let us know if you are happy to share if you are a smaller group or just get a group of friends and family together and have a table to yourselves.  If this is popular, we may run another evening.
