  • Powertex an Elephant or Guitar wall hanging – postponed

    Come and join us to Powertex your own Elephant or Guitar wall hanging.
    Please let us know whether you would like to do the Elephant or Guitar on booking.
    In this workshop you will be using Powertex fabric hardener to design and decorate a 40cm MDF Wall hanging Elephant or 44.5cm MDF Wall hanging Guitar using various recycled fabrics and embellishments.
    Once dry you will use a dry brush technique to colour and enhance the texture on your Elephant or Guitar, the finished look is up to you. You can go as colourful as you like.
    When finished you take your Elephant or Guitar home with you which once fully dried (3 weeks drying time) can be placed outside if you wish. The workshop is suitable for beginners, minimum age 10 years, no maximum age.
    Powertex is a fabric hardener so we recommend wearing old clothes, aprons and gloves are supplied and refreshments are included.

  • Learn to Crochet – Improvers workshop Week 2

    Learn to Crochet Granny Squares for Improvers.
    This course is suitable for those with some knowledge or have attended our beginners workshop, who would like to improve and will work with a selection of colours to complete granny squares.
    During the three weeks you will learn how to crochet granny squares, from which you can then build. Granny squares are fun to make and popular for making bags scarves, clothing, a pencil case or a blanket, the possibilities are endless.
    You will learn:
    • How to make a granny square
    • How to change colour
    • How to join squares and explore different projects
    • And use different stitches to complete your work
    Equipment: all is provided for you to keep (a hook, crochet guide and your finished project and yarn to take home).
    Minimum class size 3 and maximum 6.
    Cost: £60
    £20 non refundable (but transferable) deposit on booking, with the balance due on the first evening.

    In this workshop you will be using Powertex fabric hardener, recycled materials and a variety of embellishments to design and decorate a Picture frame of your choice. You can choose from a variety of themes – sea, steampunk, flowers for example – please discuss with us prior to workshop.
    Once dry you will use a dry brush technique to colour and enhance the texture on your frame, the finished look is up to you.
    When finished you take your frame home with you. The workshop is suitable for beginners, minimum age 10 years (accompanied by an adult), no maximum age.

    Come and join us to Powertex your own beautiful Mirror.
    In this workshop you will be using Powertex fabric hardener, recycled materials and bister sprays to design and decorate a 25.5cm Wall hanging Mirror using a Dream, sea theme and various embellishments. (actual Mirror size 9.5cm square). Other themes available, please discuss with us prior to workshop.
    Once dry you will use a dry brush technique to colour and enhance the texture on your Mirror, the finished look is up to you.
    When finished you take your Mirror home with you. The workshop is suitable for beginners, minimum age 10 years (accompanied by an adult), no maximum age.

  • Knitting as a Life Skill – 5 week course Week 1

    “Knitting is calming, relaxing, and keeps us centred because of its repetitive movements, which can help prevent and manage stress, pain and depression, which in turn strengthens the body’s immune system”
    The total course is for five weeks, two hours per night. Over the period of the five weeks you will learn the basics of knitting, to include:
    How to hold the needles
    Casting on and off
    Garter stitch
    Stocking stitch
    Increasing and decreasing
    You will also learn how to follow a pattern.
    Once these skills have been gained, this will enable you to progress to intermediate/advanced level where you will learn to work with more complicated patterns.
    Please note that there will also be an element of ‘homework’ between weeks.
    During the weeks you will knit a hat, headband or a cowl together with a brooch (styles will vary).
    Dates:
    Week 1 – Tuesday 20th February
    Week 2 – Tuesday 27th February
    Week 3 – Tuesday 5th March
    Week 4 – Tuesday 12th March
    Week 5 – Tuesday 19th March

She knits for a variety of charities including Breast Cancer and Help the Heroes. She has run classes at Evesham College for the past five years, offering a relaxed informal style of learning with the focus on having fun

    Minimum number 3 and maximum seating for 14.
    If you don’t see a date that is suitable, please speak to us as we may be able to accommodate you on a different day.

  • Powertex an A5 Sketchbook or Notebook

    Create your own unique A5 sketchbook or notebook which can be used as a gift or for yourself, using fabrics, a range of embellishments and Powertex – choose your theme.
    A variety of Powertex colours are available, the note books are an example only, you will be able to create your own design using the materials provided..
    Cost of £30.00 includes all materials and tuition and a hot/cold drink during the workshop.
    Powertex is the environmentally friendly water based textile hardener which can harden a variety of materials and both Kaz & Annie are Certified Powertex Tutors for fabric sculpting, Stone Art and mixed media.
    It can be a very messy craft but with great results. An apron and gloves will be provided, please wear old clothes. You are welcome to bring your own apron if you prefer.
